New tubes are kicking ass. I tried many old stock power tubes and they are good, but prices are just crazy. Genalex KT88 and Mullard EL84 are great – all the way! Genalex EL84 is just fantastic – transparent and involving.
for 300B its hard to beat old stock. i know there are some good, but very expensive new production tubes like Full Music, but I haven’t tried them. Genalex, EH, Shuguang just can’t compare to WE.
