Definitely one of the best 6sl7 tubes. 6188 tube is very rare, but still possible to find. It’s a military version of 6SU7, which itself is a low noise version of 6SL7 🙂 So selected of a selected – it’s getting into the category of super selected 🙂
Sound-wise – well, it’s 50th Tung-sol, so the sound is transparent and airy, although compared to 6SL7 Round plates from the same company, it’s not as rich. A great tube for warmer sounding amps. Lifelike performance is guaranteed.
