Rolling the Sylvania 12BH7 Dark Gray Plates is quite a complicated task, just because the majority of tubes in this family are quite exceptional. This specific version featuring dark gray plates is a superb tube, offering a nice balance of details and warmth. It works quite well for vocal and rock music, providing a steady and reliable performance. The only thing that separates it from the absolute best tubes is the amount of air, some 12AU7 variants produce much more air and, as a result, sound more lively. Even so, it remains a highly recommended choice for your collection.
